Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs

Ingredients
  

  • 4 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, black pepper, salt, and paprika to create the marinade.
  3. Place the chicken thighs in a large ziplock bag or a bowl and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag or cover the bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours.
  4. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later use.
  5. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down in the skillet and sear for about 5-7 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
  6. Flip the chicken thighs over, pour the reserved marinade over them, and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
  7. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  8. Once cooked, remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes.
  9. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken for longer. Serve with rice or vegetables.
